This device commands attention when it belts out instructions to whereabouts.
Its loud speaker is a good thing as it wouldn’t get drowned out by in-vehicle noises like the radio and that nagging co-driver. Its interface is straightforward and intuitive, complete with large touch on-screen touch buttons that are easy as pie to use. Straight out-of-the-box, the DigiWalker c320b comes with maps of Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. The navigation experience offered was exhaustive with enough pre-loaded information to keep one driving just for the heck of it. Satellite lockdown, however, wasn’t fast, it takes about two minutes on start-up even on a clear day out in the open. Browsing menus appear to be slightly sluggish especially when checking out points-of-Interest (POIs).
Verdict
Straightforwardly functional, great screen and relatively affordable.
FEATURES
01 Display
Absolutely brilliant. Giant 4.3-inch widescreen is built to take serious jabs at it. At maximum levels, its bright display is clearly visible in daylight.
02 Navigation
Standard-fare navigational tricks are in. The device shows POIs, toll roads and even a travel history. Road names in both 3D and 2D view are clear.
03 Others
It plays MP3s. Yup. An SD/MMC memory card slot at its side can be used to add songs to the device. Neat, but unnecessary for vehicle owners.
