Sony Ericsson launched three web-centric panels for its multimedia convergence phone, the Xperia X1. This includes panels from the popular social networking site Facebook, Microsoft Windows Live and Dashwire, a site which allows you to sync your phone content to the web and share it to a range of popular social networking sites.

The Facebook, Windows Live and Dashwire panels are available for free download via the device’s on-board downloader and from the Sony Ericsson website, where they join the initial panels from Sony Ericsson and Spb software. i-mate Go, powered by VITO Winterface, takes advantage of i-mate’s high resolution touch screens and advanced capabilities to deliver one touch access to the user’s favourite functions through a simple icon based menu.

It also marks the start of Windows Mobile 6.1 availability for the i-mate Ultimate range, starting with the i-mate Ultimate 9502 and Ultimate 8502.

Parents will have a greater peace of mind when M1 launches a new service next week that will provide children with a safer environment to use mobile phones.

This innovative service, KidSAFE, will allow parents to decide who their children can communicate with on their mobile phones. It takes away the risk of children talking to strangers or falling prey to mobile scams.

Available from 9 December, parents will now be able to programme up to 40 phone numbers that their children can make and receive calls from. This will also apply to the sending and receiving of SMS messages.
