According to Nokia’s official website, “the N97 isn't a device that will trigger knee-jerk hysteria, but instead it should breed cool-headed excitement at the prospect of a new era of mobile experience.”

Although this is an N-series handset, the N97 carves a new space in the otherwise blurred realm between smartphone and laptop.

The most physically immediate stand-out feature of the N97 is its kick-out full QWERTY keyboard, hidden behind a 3.5-inch widescreen 16:9 touch display that tilts smartly above the keys.

Trend Micro had graciously dropped by last week to show us what the Trend Micro Internet Security 2009 can do. We were impressed that its Advanced Warning program is able to scan web pages continuously online and warn users of malicious URLs before anyone clicks on them. Of course, someone has to get “hit” first before the rest are adequately warned. But the system is so comprehensive that it even scans through several degrees of email threads to get to the source of the threat.
