We mentioned the cool-looking iFrogz 3rd generation iPod nano case, Audiowrapz, a while ago, and we finally got a chance to see and experience it up close. The rubbery silicon casing is rather unique with its textured surface and proved a pleasure to touch and feel. However, it only fitted the 3rd generation iPod nano and no other players, which was a tad disappointing (we were hoping we could infringe on it with our older iPods). Fitting-wise, an iPod nano can be snugly positioned in the case, as it attaches to a portal at the bottom of the case. The self-powered speaker is a marvel as it transmits audio signals outside without batteries. The volume of the audio (at its loudest) proved to be comparable to that of a mobile phone speaker at moderate level. It is not dynamic enough to deliver a pleasurable listening experience but will suffice as unobtrusive background music. Due to the speakers, the skin is extended about an inch more than the length of the iPod nano. It will not slide as easily in your pocket, but if you plan to carry it in your hand, it is no problemo! An innovative feature is the headphone jack situation underneath the casing. This allows you to connect your ear pieces seamlessly and still be able to listen to your music without the hassle of unwanted bulk. As a case, it also offers shock-absorbing protection due to its unique texture, and a unique one-of-a-kind skin. At SGD49, the Audiowrapz is reasonably priced. It is currently available from all Apple Centres in Black, Green, Pink, Gun metal, Tire thread design and Blue. As the only such iPod nano skin in the market, this should deliver some individuality and generate interest from others, especially when it offers such cool customisation options.
