The highlight of the T-2 is the 4GB of internal memory it contains. That's being empowered with the ability to store 40,000 images without trouble and eliminates the need for handling external memory cards that can easily go missing. Some reviews have mentioned that the touchscreen on the T-2 is unresponsive, but we beg to differ. We do take note that the T-2 is no iPod Touch, and cannot be compared to such an incredibly sensitive screen. That’s why we would like to defend the T-2 by praising its sensible interface, which responds promptly to touch, as long as you are tapping firmly on it. One of the great features of the T-2 is the presence of the Smile Shutter. Once Smile Shutter is activated, the camera only takes a picture when it detects a smile coming from your subject or subjects. However, take note that it is not a very sensitive feature, and it only works when you are literally grinning from ear to ear. So if you need to take proper family portraits where everyone sits rigid with slightly upturned lips, please don’t use this feature. The camera takes pretty pixelated pictures with higher ISOs but it does smoothen the pixels by softening the dots. The High Sensitivity feature for some reason produces better night pictures compared to using the programmed ISO mode. As for the optical zoom is quite decent and we were surprised to see little pixelation even when the picture was enlarged. However, a 3x optical zoom is hardly impressive and we thought Sony could do better by improving the zoom. Shots are organised by date (into albums), which makes viewing thumbnails a little complicated. Pictures are organised into three styles – Index, Album List, and Calendar. We won’t deny that it’s all very impressive, but it also makes it difficult for us to find a specific picture quickly. The T2 also offers Scrap Book and Slideshow playback modes. The slideshow playback can add effects and songs to your pictures which plays back in a very impressive atmosphere. In overall, we feel that the Sony T2 demonstrates brilliant ease of use, and is easy to understand due to its clear interface. However, it does not fare well with night shots as pictures turn out pixelated. Its battery only last for 140 mins, which is not spectacular. But you might still want to get this camera and pimp it around because, it’s a real beauty to behold. And such beauties don’t come by often enough.
