Instead of screening a photo-montage of baby photos at his wedding, Drew & Jo are going to shoot a quirky short film involving a demon ex-boyfriend and a magic flying beach towel. Keep checking back to this blog to see all the latest updates, as well as tutorials on how you can shoot your own quirky short film! Don't forget to sign the Guest Book!
Well this blog hasn't been updated for something like 3 weeks, and for that I apologise. The reason was that the week leading up to the wedding was so hectic with wedding prep that I didn't even go online much, and after that was the two week honeymoon, and I had zero internet access during then.
Anyway, I'm going to put up the Dinner Version of the Wedding Video for you guys to check out. It's been cut down a bit for timing reasons (don't want my parents' friends to get bored during the dinner), with a majority of the ninjas and funky violence cut out, but it's still a good healthy 80% of the full video. So yeah, check it out, and I'll be back to write about how you can do some of the cooler effects in upcoming posts.
Here's the third and probably final teaser video before the big day (only 14 days to go now!). Some of you might even recognize it as being themed after the very first ninja videogame I ever played as a child. It was an early title on the classic Sega Megadrive, and if you can figure out what it is, why don't you write your guess in the GuessBook?
Over the last weekend, I just went hardcore into editing the Magic Flying Beach Towel scene. It's still missing some sound effects and I might tweak a few of the sequences, but for the most part here it is for your enjoyment. Drop any comments you have in the guestbook, ya?
When it comes to using music in your videos, commercial stuff is great, but what's even better is getting something new and original for your video. This way, you'll have music that definitely wasn't used before in some obscure TV promo spot for some local gameshow with local celebrities falling hilariously over themselves while dressed up as giant chickens.

Belinda Carlisle's Greatest Hits CD: Keeps you awake at night like a kick in the face.
Once again, it's 3am at night, and I'm working overtime edging out images for the video. The only thing keeping me going is Belinda Carlisle's greatest hits CD, with the endless amount of energy that comes with songs like Heaven is a Place on Earth and Leave a Light on for Me on repeat. Something that just came into mind was how clear the music was. Sometimes you just take familiar and well-loved songs for granted, but really when you play music off a notebook, you would generally expect the sound to be tinny and bad. But luckily for me, the LG R410 that I'm using has some pretty good speakers built into it that play Belinda just fine. And that's good enough to keep me awake.
Which is just great, because I need the comfort of my bed when I'm doing this stuff late at night, and I really can't be bothered to lug some external speakers into bed too. Anyway, I'm going to get some sleep now.
