• 40 Short-listed entries will be selected for Final Judging
• 80% (Judges Votes) & 20% (Public eVotes)
• 40 Short-listed entries will be show-cased in Gadget3.com site for Public eVote
• eVote starts from 23rd November 2009 and ends on 30th November 2009
• 40 shortlisted photographs will be exhibited at the National Geographic Store @ VivoCity from 3rd December 2009 – 10th December 2009
• Final Judging Date is on **4th December 2009** (TBC)
Judging Criteria:
Concept – 35%
Relevance of the entry to the theme given and the effectiveness in communicating the message
Originality and Creativity – 30%
Syle, Creation and Imagination; freshness of approach; unusual cropping/use of subject matter.
Composition – 20%
Good placement of subject; successful arrangement; harmonious proportions; use dynamic symmetry in placing the most important objects; good rhythm in repetition; color, spaces, moods, divisions of photograph.
Technique –15%
Color Balance - good selection of color for subject matter; using very interpretive color (maybe not normal); creative use of color (complementary colors, dark against light, strong against weak)
Lighting - good statement of light; good portrait lighting; dynamic lighting; pattern of light can enhance, create strong mood
Subject matter - outstanding interpretation for subject matter; good camera angle; good selection of photographic model or object; contrast can be very creative in selection (old and young, warm and cool)
