Into its fourth-generation, the Thump is smarter now because there are fewer restrictions. It’s still a pair of sunglasses with an MP3 player embedded, but with the introduction of detachable earpieces, it changes the quantum of things. Without them, the Split Thump is unadulterated fashion eyewear. With the earpieces in place, it’s a fashion gadget masterpiece. Music playback is crisp, strong and can go really loud.
FEATURES
The big ‘O’
It’s more than an insignia. The all familiar logo on the right-side doubles as music playback controls while the left one is for volume.
Detachable earpieces
Oakley listens to customers. The detachable earpieces are evidence of this as the sunglasses can well, be sunglasses. Remove the earpieces when you’re not using them. Popping these into your ears is easy with their dual-hinge, multi-axial design.
Plutonite lenses
There’s something behind the cool name: Oakley Plutonite lenses stops 100% of three ultraviolet lights – UVA, UVB and UVC.
Discreet USB
Copying music files over to the Split Thump is fast drag and drop style and that’s thanks to a hidden USB2.0 port. It talks to both PC and Mac.
