Docks made for the iPod are as common as colds but there aren’t many that could boast a ‘Works with iPhone’ feature. This is where JBL’s On Stage 200ID stands out. It’s not only an iPod speaker dock, but it’s also an iPhone dock too. This means you can play whatever’s on your music playlist on the iPhone and also charge its batteries at the same time. Sound quality from the On Stage 200ID is expectedly crisp with decent enough bass for a good overall experience. An infrared remote control is used top browse your connected device’s playlist and also for playback controls. There’s no light on the remote control so using it in the dark takes getting used to.

AT A GLANCE...
Simplicity
The speaker dock is as clean as it looks. Only volume control buttons can be seen at the base where the iPod or iPhone sits. Oh, and there’s a little power light in between the buttons. A bulk of the controlling powers goes to the remote control that come bundled.
Discreet speakers
Two full-range speakers are cleverly hidden behind the gray mesh. Speakers booming, there’s nothing discreet about them as their powerful sound output commands attention.
It’s a dock’s world
The 200ID comes with five clear docks for different iPods and also the iPhone. Yes, that’s right, the iPhone is officially supported here.

There’s no question about the 200ID’s sound quality, but the cloth-mesh enveloping the dock is a little old
