Sony debuted the world's highest resolution full-frame DSLR, the α900 in Singapore today. This DSLR sports a 24.6 megapixel Exmor sensor and its image processing is being taken care off by dual BIONZ image processing engines. With such superlative specifications, the α900 is capable of producing image details never seen before. Its excellent dynamic range of colours as well as smooth tonal gradations ensure that the reproduction of images is close to that being perceived by the human eye.

tamron_18_270.jpg
We finally got to see prototypes of Tamron’s world’s longest range 15x zoom lens (18-270mm) and wide angle lens (10-24mm) with vibration compensation (VC) yesterday. Tamron reps Mr Shiro Ajisaka (above) and Mr Hidehiko Suzuki were down in Singapore to explain how VC works and how the new lens will be compact, lightweight, and affordable to advanced amateur photographers. While prices are kept hush hush, we were made to understand that they would be priced similarly to each other. The super wide angle 10-24mm lens would debut from end Oct to Nov, while the versatile 18-270mm lens would be available from the end of September.

Wrath of the Skater-King

The Skater-King and his Dread-board

If you've been noticing those new banners around the site, you might be wondering just why my wedding video is going to be "Epic". Well, it's not just a regular wedding video with baby photos and couple shots; this video is a fantasy tale of a regular geek (myself) meeting a princess (my fiancee), and rescuing her from the clutches of her maniacal demon-drummer ex-boyfriend. Not only do I have to fight him, but I'll also have to get through the immortal Skater-King and his army of ninjas.

It's all done by simple but awesomely cool animation techniques, and I'll be going through the quick and easy steps on the Wedding Video blog. Click below to see the demo video where I beat myself up, Mortal Kombat style.

Two years after the Panasonic LX2, comes the LX3. And boy is it gorgeous, with its new standards in performance and capabilities. It has a large, sensitive 1/1.63-inch CCD with 10.1 pixels, and F2.0 Leica DC Vario-Summicron lens for more light to enter. It has a 24-60mm focal length, as well as a 3-inch LCD. New technologies such as customised functions and intelligent backlighting also bring about ease of use and versatility. And its sensitive up to ISO 6400 and shutter lag of 0.005-second will ensure you’ll never miss candid shots.
