Joker "Magic Trick" t-shirt

Posted by Drew in MiscellaneousEntertainment

If only it came in purple too

Since I'm in a "totally all about the Joker" phase right now, here's a nice little t-shirt that I saw linked in JoBlo.com. It's the funniest magic trick in the world! Unless you're the guy it's being performed on, of course.

Local flavour

Posted by Drew in NewsEntertainment

If you're sick and tired of seeing the same old Hollywood stars in the same old action or rom-com blockbusters, then head over to Sinema Old School for some local films. Whether it's short films on Tuesday nights, comedy on Wednedays or the Friday Fright Nights, there'll be plenty there for all to enjoy, with a new programme just for the month of August. Just check out the Sinema site for more info.

That said, I'll never get tired of seeing Affleck in another action movie. Bring on more Affleck!

Hong Kong MGS trip (pt 1)

Posted by Drew in MiscellaneousGamingEvents

Solid Snake is EVERYWHERE

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to fly to Hong Kong to check out the last stop for the Metal Gear Solid 4 world tour, and interview four of the people behind the game, including the creator himself, Hideo Kojima.

Click below the jump for more pics and random musings about the big event.

Marky Max Payne trailer

Posted by Drew in NewsEntertainment

Two things that I'll never regret buying: the action game Max Payne, and that cheap second-hand copy of Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch's debut album ("Feel it! Feel it! Feel the vibration!"). Put those two elements together, and you've got the Max Payne movie, starring Mark Wahlberg as the eponymous character. After The Big Hit, Shooter and The Departed, Marky Mark can sure shoot a gun in style.

I can't wait to see this movie. For some trailers of the computer games, click after the jump.

Your PC May Cry 4

Nero and Dante, poster boys for Loreal colour-lock shampoo

If your idea of fun is running around with an over-sized sword with a motorbike throttle as a handle, randomly hacking demons in an attempt to chain together a 200 hit combo, then you'll like Devil May Cry 4. EA has announced that it will release the game on PC next Thursday, the 17th July 2008.

Electrico @ Zouk

Local band Electrico

If I wasn't flying off to Hong Kong for a business trip this Friday night (11th July), then I'd be at the launch of local band Electrico's new album We Satellites. So if you're not going away on Friday night, head on over to Zouk and check out the band's new playlist of darker and fuller songs.

Maverick Guitar playing

Posted by Drew in NewsGaming

The Top Gun Anthem has been a major part of my life forever. The classic guitar theme has been a regular inclusion in my short films, and something I always hummed in my head during the last few laps of my 2.4km IPPT runs in the army. And today (or maybe tomorrow), I'll be able to play this song in Guitar Hero III as they've made it a free downloadable song to celebrate the 4th July (Independence Day in the US).

Happy days and jubilation!

Diablo 3 announced!

Posted by Drew in NewsGaming

You know, I honestly didn't think it would happen. After the creators of Diablo left Blizzard to form their own studio to make Hellgate: London, I figured it would become a dead franchise while Blizzard concentrates on Warcraft and Starcraft. But lo and behold... the Lord of Terror has arisen again, and he comes with some gameplay footage (which you can check out after the jump).
