Robocop remake?

Posted by Drew in NewsEntertainment

Your move, creep!

Now making another Robocop movie might just be the worst idea in the world, as Robocop 1 is pretty much already a perfect movie, even with the cheesy stop-motion animation. Director Paul Verhoeven is a film genius, and nobody else is twisted enough to conceptualise a cyborg cop that's "a modern urban Jesus" (you gotta listen to the director's commentary!). But now Hollywood has found the man for the job.

Marky Max Payne teases again

Posted by Drew in NewsEntertainment

That's the Max Payne we all love

JoBlo.com has just put up a couple of teaser posters from the upcoming action "based on a videogame but hopefully won't suck like Resident Evil 3" movie Max Payne, starring Mark Wahlberg. One of them looks kinda cool, but the other one looks exactly like the videogame and thus downright awesome. Click below to see the other poster and read about my "muffin top' love handles. Yeah, because you know you really want to read about my flab.

Posted by Drew in NewsGamingEvents

Fallout 3

So the big event for gamers recently was E3 in the US, where tons and tons of new games were unveiled and showcased. We could drone on and on about all of them, but we won't. Instead, here's my list of the coolest games that I'm just dying to play.

Dark Knight breaks records

Posted by Drew in NewsEntertainment

Purple is the new red and blue.

Update: The original estimate of USD155.3 million was actually conservative. Actual figures taken after the weekend actually stand at USD158.3 million, with IMAX theatres earning USD67,000 each. Remember... this is just the opening weekend, which is almost as much as the total domestic takings for the original Batman Begins (USD205.3 million).

Here's some news that's completely unsurprising: The Dark Knight has completely shattered box office records by taking in USD155.3 million dollars on its opening weekend, overtaking the previous record set by Spider-Man 3 at USD151.1 million last year.

Slapping good fun?

Posted by Drew in NewsEntertainment

Lots of big... weapons

Sometimes you just have to check your brain at the door and enjoy a completely senseless piece of tacky entertainment. This poster of the upcoming movie Bitch Slap pretty much says it all. It also stars Lucy Lawless and Kevin Sorbo, along with a whole bunch of other Hercules/Xena regulars!

I have no idea when this movie comes out, or if it will even come to Singapore screens for that matter.

Bring me the head of Optimus Prime!

Posted by Drew in NewsMiscellaneousEntertainment

Remember those Headmaster Transformers?

Where Megatron's minions have failed, you can succeed in bringing home the head of Optimus Prime, the noble leader of the Autobots. This 11-inch tall bust of Optimus Prime is made of 40 pieces of plastic and metal to be an accurate recreation of the movie version of Optimus. Whack in some batteries and his eyes will light up and he'll start mouthing off his catch-phrases too!

Bring home this talking head for SGD299 from Simply Toys.

It's Raining ninjas

Posted by Drew in NewsEntertainment

Dude needs his shampoo... pronto!

You've seen him dancing on a stage, you've seen him hopping around like a bunny, you've seen him drive a really fast car, and you've even seen him showing off his dandruff-free hair. Now you're going to see Korean star Rain as a total bad-ass ninja in the upcoming Ninja Assassin.

Mummy 3 final poster

Posted by Drew in NewsEntertainment

I wanna see Jet Li fight the Scorpion King instead.

Just to prove that I can post something today that doesn't involve a certain green-haired villain portrayed by an actor who's definitely going to win a posthumous Academy award, here's the final poster of the upcoming Mummy 3 movie.
